I often receive requests for locations where they can inquire about donation information so their families can receive Christmas assistance in the way of gifts for their children, Christmas trees, and clothing because they are unemployed, disabled, or this year are survivors of the devastating tornadoes and other disasters that hit this country. The following links are for Alabama charities and organizations that may be able to help families in need of Christmas donations and other types of assistance.

Fall arrives this weekend and that means Christmas will soon be here. There are many local agencies and charities who organize toy drives and clothing drives to help families in need at Christmas. It is heartbreaking to know that your child may have to wake up Christmas morning to find no toys or gifts of any kind waiting under a tree or at the foot of their bed. Even if money is scarce and you are need of help, there are possibly a few helpful things that you can do …

help families in need

Here it is September again and that means it is time for us to start thinking about how we can help Santa help families who are in need of gifts for their children this Christmas. As we all know, there are more families in need this year than last year and the year before that. For these loving families who once had hopes of achieving their “American Dream” there doesn’t seem much hope for this year.

Recycle Your Christmas Tree: Donate
It’s never too early to start planning for Christmas, especially when a free Christmas tree offer comes your way. Last year several families in need of Christmas help were able to be matched on NanaFinds.com with other familes who wanted to recycle their Christmas tree by donating it. Organizations Generously Give Free School Supplies to Children in Need
It’s the beginning of another school year for many children. Do you remember going to the store with your mother to choose school supplies? That was the fun part of going back to school for most of us. I remember the cost adding up quickly because I had to buy three of everything! But for some it can be stressful…not because they don’t like school, but because they’re worried about not having the school supplies like the other kids. Great bargains can be found in the stores, but when …

families in need of help

Close to two hundred families posted requests for Christmas help on NanaFinds.com during the past three months. Out of those two hundred, five families found their “angel.” Because of that small success, I’m opening this post up for families who are looking for an “angel” or a group of “angels” to help them in some capacity during 2011.
