When you think of a gypsy costume, what is the first thing that comes to mind? For me, it is bright colors, a long skirt, apron, peasant blouse with a sash around the waist, sandals, large hoop earrings, lots of bangle bracelets and long beads, and a long scarf tied just behind one ear under long hair or a bandana tied to one side ontop of the hair. Carry a crystal ball or the Magic 8 ball and a pack of Tarot cards. You can have a great time getting into character and predicting the love life…or financial future…of everyone you meet.

If you don’t have the right clothes or accessories, borrow them or visit thrift stores for some good deals. I’m sure you’ll be able to find bright colors and lots of gypsy like jewelry. Just add lipstick and blush, and perhaps some dark eye makeup, and you’ve got yourself an easy homemade gypsy costume.
